We are thrilled to feature our next guest for the Earth and Mama Journal's Guest Playlist Series, Elo Vázquez. Elo is a photographer, DJ, and soda water enthusiast from the South of Spain. Her love for photography and music began at a young age, and she hasn't stopped exploring these passions since then. In this month's playlist, Elo takes us on a journey through a carefully curated selection of songs, each less than one minute and a half long.
"I find it very hard to describe what kind of pictures I take or what kind of music I listen to, but a very basic explanation for both is that I like the unexpected. The unpredictability of a song makes me curious about what’s happening next, and curiosity is the biggest motor behind my photography as well.
This unexpectedness also applies in those situations of enjoying a song really really much and suddenly, like a bubble that bursts — it’s over. And that makes me wonder: what’s the normal length of a song? What’s the perfect length of a song? What’s the perfect length of a song that you love?
Here’s a selection of 50 too short, too nice songs. All of them are less than one minute and a half, carefully placed one after the other for making them fit like puzzle pieces, and creating one big unexpected piece of music of barely one hour long. Take a listen if you’re curious (and if you want to enjoy with an extra twist, try the gapless playing option in Spotify, really worth it!)."
Elo's playlist features 50 too short, too nice songs, each less than a minute and a half in length, carefully placed in order, so don't forget to disable shuffle mode, and to activate the Gapless Playback. As she puts it, "the unpredictability of a song makes me curious about what’s happening next, and curiosity is the biggest motor behind my photography as well."
Take a listen to Elo's guest playlist on Spotify, and enjoy the unexpected twists and turns of these carefully curated short and sweet songs.
